    Primer Question

getting ready to reload some 147 grn FMJ in mixed 308 cases. Anyone know if there's an issue with using magnum large rifle primers vs. standard large rifle primers?

No safety issues, but your velocities and group dispersions may change a little, possibly for the better. Your mixed brass will have a greater effect though.

sort cases by type and store that way. Back off the charge a bit when using mag primers and work up. If you keep cases sorted and loaded in lots by type of cases then you will have less change in group size. If its just plinkin loads load and shoot.

Your powder choice may require magnum primers, particularly if you use ball powder.

          primers!? huh...where.... I'll take em'
seriously, magnum primers will likely add to your velocities. you'll probably "feel" the difference when you shoot em'
