    Dillon XL750 review

Got my 750 today. Set up was a no brainer as it's just like a 650. Started running and the cases were not feeding---took me a bit to figure out that adjustment. Never had to do that on my 650 as I bought it used and that adjustment was already made so was unaware that adjustment was there. As I was messing around with that I didn’t realize that none of the rounds were getting primers---GRRRRR!!! That took me a while to figure that out as I had to go to the book to try and figure it out. Spent some time there as I wanted to figure how to take the prier station off to change primer size. Never ran a 550 so was not familiar with the linear system. Next--I was getting a lot of powder spillage. What I found out is you can screw the case plate down a lot more on the 750 than you can on the 650. Then I got going. Ran a couple of hundred till my back was hurting and said screw this I want to get this done so I really started running fast. I was pleasantly surprised. Ran real smooth running about as fast as I could. I have to say---not kicking out primers down a chute that shot them all over even with an after market stop on it was pretty nice. Loading primer tubes is not my favorite part of loading. Having to deal with all the primers coming down the chute for various reasons---at the start when checking powder, at the end after the last round gets sized and they keep kicking out till the last round kicks out, brass coming down the chute upside down etc etc so personally I really like the linear system. Over all----I'm glad I made the change. I got a good price/trade on my 650 so am really happy. I’d have kept it and set up a second system but just did not have the room. Satisfied customer!!

Update 8/6---just loaded 500 rounds in 26 minutes. I think I am going to like this.

Get your self a Vibra-Primer. Loads primer tubes in almost a flash.

Yes, but which one. All the cheaper models and home-made jobs get really terrible reviews. Which one worked for you?

The Frankfort Arsenal vibra prime is not very loud, you must have a real oasis there. Only problem I have found is they are picky with primers. Mine will load cci spp real quick, none upside down, no jams. As I found this weekend, Winchester lpp are a complete failure in it.

Thanks for the review, how much did you run your 650 before getting the 750?

I bought my 650 used from an AMMO store----it had a lot run through it. After the first 30K rounds I sent it back for the heck of it and had it gone through. Put another 35K through it before I bought the 750. I had the 650 right at 2 1/2 years.
