New Dillon XL750

Looks like Dillon finally upgraded the primer system.

The new press appears to use the same style of primer system that the 550 uses. Wonder if they will have a retro for the 650?

according to Dillon the primer system is so different there will not be an upgrade option for the 650. That said---I am waiting to hear from the first user to get there 750 and give a product review cause if it's good I am on board!!

Looks to be a straight replacement for the XL650 which has dropped of the dillon site and is not in the September issue of the Blue Press.

It will be interesting to see some reports and videos of people using them to see what exactly has changed

I was just on their site and chatting with them. 650 is still on their page. Everything from the 650 is compatible with the 750 except the primer station. The changes are such there will be no upgrade to the 650. I'd like to hear from a new user to get details but heck----I'll sell my 650 and be the guinnie pig---anyone want my 650

I'm glad to see they're doing something with it because primer errors are probably 75% of these mistakes and errors that I get on my 650

Hot off the press! I'll be your test dummy----gentleman close by wanted to make a deal on my 650 and some steel stands so I went for it and ordered the 750. Once I have it set up I'll report back.

I've never had problem with primers on 550 or 650,
my only hiccup with 650 is cases occasionally jamming against the little ejector wire

While the 550/1050 primer slider is more simple than the rotary I wouldn't even think of selling my 650 just for that. Once you know how to set the platform and shell plate its not a big deal. The stroke will be slightly longer as well so .338 Lapua can be loaded on it but I wouldn't load that on a progressive anyway. The most appealing thing to me is the new casefeeder without the dumb metal plate the bulletfeeder doesn't like.

I was really hoping for new stuff out of Dillon. Instead they teased everyone with the RL1100 which isn't much different then the S1050 except for a shorter stroke of the old RL1050 and a bit bigger ram, and I say teased because they aren't even shipping yet. Then the CP which is nice but pretty much just the 1100 without the loading gear. Now the XL750 which is the same as a 650 but they added a few things that had to be made in the aftermarket that should have been done to start and reverted back to the old primer setup. I also see nothing about the 1100 that makes me want to trade my S1050 for.

I have yet to have a problem with priming anything on my 650.

I've already checked on the retro. No go from what they said. Not sure what that means exactly. I can't imagine that they actually redesigned the press. Looks like a 650 with additional updates.

I am looking forward to your reviews on the 750. I have been contemplating getting into reloading and getting the 650, so if I jump in, might as well be with the 750.
