    .45 Colt lever loads.

Seems there's a fair amount of shooters here buying lever rifle. Some in handgun calibers, some in rifle calibers[or cartridge seletion, whatever is correct]. I've been shooting the dickens out of my Henry .45 Colt and it has turned into my favorite rifle to shoot....presently. So, I know there are a couple other .45 Colt shooters here, so, I'm going to share my one load I use in my rifle. Mods, if this post isn't right, feel free to delete. Ok, here goes:
250gr LRNFP, coated or plain from Missouri Bullets.
    8.0gr -8.5gr Unique.
    Starline brass.
    Win LP primers.
    OAL: 1.585".
Med. crimp. Thats it. Easy, peasy. You guys have other loads for this. lets see 'em. We can about other calibers later. Alright then.......

I've seen Mr Pennstater shoot this round from his Henry. Its a good load.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

With 250gr RNFP MBC bullets at 1.60 OAL, I've been using 7.4gr of W231 in my Marlin 1894CB 24" with very good results.
It's one of my favorite guns to shoot.
I know the idea of a NorCal lever gun shoot has come up before in LG posts. We need to make this happen.

I like 2400 for the Winchnester short rifle. Same bullet as OP except I'm using the costed bullet.

I’ll have to load a few for my marlin lever in 45 colt! Haven’t tried unique yet

Thanks Mark. That load is pretty damn good. Heck, I might even put a scope on it[short term!], just to see what it can really do. Really likin' that rifle.

joeymfd, I believe you'd like this load. Easy on your rifle and you.

No clue yet. I bought a couple different bullets for it and need to just do a big run.

So far, everything I've shot through it shot really really well with the buckhorn sights, so I feel like it's going to be an easy one to load for. I'd like to do a bunch of basic plinking loads, and one lead free pig load...though if I hunt with one, it'll probably be the new to me/old 44 mag?

I dunno. Too many dang projects to keep track of.

                      OP,
Thanks for the heads up. Where do you get you Missouri bullets?
                      Thanks

I buy mine locally at Philipps Wholesale in Covina. He usually has a pretty good supply of Missouri and x-treme bullets. If that isn't an option, you can buy from Missouri direct. You just have to navigate thru they're bullet selection.
I use the #1 Cowboy RNFP.

I use the same 250gr bullet and have bought from MBC in the past.

What I may try next is a 200gr RNFP coated bullet after I go through
                          the remaining boxes of 250's.

G-Man, been thinking along those very lines. For the type of shooting I do, those would work just as well. I'm just a plinker any longer, no hunting.
                            Good call.

Yea, the 250's are only clocking about 900fps with my load so not a barrel burner by any means. I like to shot steel at 100-200yds and lobbing it out there
can hit a gong at 200. I'm just looking to shed 50grs and bump up the speed a little to see what happens.
I also want to try the 200's in my 45LC SA pistols.
