    9mm crimp on Dillon 650

How much of an impression should the brass leave in the projectile?

How tight does the crimp need to be?

I'm fitting in the case gauge, but do I need more crimp?

I am new to reloading and started with 9mm. My first 50 reloads fired fine. What I found was that rounds not crimped properly won't pass the plunk test. Adjust the crimp until they pass. Anyone, correct me if I am wrong here. I am using a Lee turret press.

Dillon dies? Normal to get a hour glass look. Its a tapered case. Dillon dies do a good job resizing to the point of the projectile sometimes looks bulged at the base.

That's where I stopped with the crimp, once they passed the case gauge.

I like to crimp my 9mm @ .379 for a .356 diameter bullet. check out the crimp calculator on the Dillon site.

Hope the OP isn't trying to crimp a plated 9mm bullet.

If you can just see it, that will be ok, DON'T let it dig in.
