.351 WSL Reloading

My first attempt to reload .351 WSL. This project is about four months in the making.

180 Gr Jacketed
IMR4227
First load = 17.0 grains
Second load = 18.5 grain (a compressed load)

177 Lead Cast
IMR4227
17.5 grains

Started with @150 once fired original brass (cleaned)




Me at the range yesterday (6-30-2019)


To my surprise, all loads functioned perfectly ! This is with a new Wolf recoil spring and new recoil buffer.

Man did you bring back memories. I still have my fathers 351, and two of the 1903 22 Winchester Auto version.

Great guns, ammo is expensive.

I don't know this to be facts, but dad always told me the 1907 was designed to be used by prison guards. I always thought it would be too heavy to lug around on guard duty?

From what I understand, it was a popular gun for guard and police use. I don't know if that was what it was designed for. The lead character in AMC's series "The Son" uses one in a few scenes. There was also a .401 WSL version, I believe.
