Every Manual I have illustrates the cartridge dimensions. The case, the bullet diamter and sometimes length, the loaded round. Sierra, Speer, Hornady and Lee. You got about the the only two that do not. I think. Mentioned earlier. " NEVER load ammo to what the book says is max load.

Pretty sane advice, but I have to say that if you know what you are doing. No. I have gone over every max load shown in every cartridge I shoot. . . except the .243 Winchester and 6.5 Swede. But I worked up slowly from near minimum load. Over the years, say the 25 I have been reloading, the bullet mfg's manuals have gotten increasingly conservative. All for it, there is no replacement for eyeballs and fingers.

After you FL size your brass lot, measure the case length of the entire lot. Then you will see the longest one.

Use the longest one as the basis for your trimmer set-up so that you can cut or trim to the length of 2.005"

Is your trimmer new or used? If used, try to see if you can get a replacement cutting head so that the trim to length is consistent.

If it aint, get a Giraud trimmer.

2 to 3 thou off or longer than the TTL of 2.005" is ok unless you have a custom 308 chamber.

Pay more attention to your numbers. I know you mean 2.005 and 2.015, but let's be accurate when we're discussing precision stuff.

Huh? If you set the trimmer up for the longest one, you won't trim anything else from that batch.
