    Labradar - happy with it?

Thinking of picking one up. I have a chrony but it's a bit inconvenient.

    Any problems with Labradar?

    Thanks!

Happy with it. The app control could be better. But much easier to use than standard chronometers.

Depends on what you'll be shooting. Most normal calibers/loads it works fine. It *may* have trouble with smaller projectiles, and has a velocity cap (3900fps according to the manual.)

The on-board interface sucks. The app (running on IOS or Android) isn't a lot better. It can be finicky getting it to read a particular setup. Despite the claims, on a tight range, it may trigger and read off the shooter next to you (though that may a trigger sensitivity issue.)

That said, it works pretty well once set up. I've clocked air pistol (.177" 7gr pellet at about 500 fps, using an external trigger); 32SWL, 38Spl and 45ACP in the 600-800fps range; and 6mm and 30 cal in the 2700 to 3100fps range.

I've had one since 2016. I bought a Magnetospeed V3 last year just to do chassis mounted bayonet.

I still prefer Labradar for most things.

Any nuances you learn how to deal with. If you shoot rimfire, just save yourself the time and get the air gun trigger adapter.

There is a learning curve, but it works well.

Happy with it, although the app is quite glitchy. I keep getting disconnected. worse when i was using a microSD with adaptor. currently using a full size SD with battery pack.

Also, helps when i leave my phone/android/iphone device behind something to block any muzzle blast.

for some reason the muzzle blast was causing bluetooth to disconnect. And worst part is i couldn't get it to reconnect.

I went ahead and paired my phone to the labradar and this seems to help to reconnect

                  I really enjoy my Labradar.

                  Buy with confidence.

Not perfect, and has trouble picking up noise of a subsonic .22 lr from a longer rifle barrel - get the air gun trigger as recommended above if you want to measure a lot of match grade rim fire from rifles.

I like mine but it's not infallible. A few things I don't like - I have trouble with certain firearms like pistols with compensators (it's not blast because it will pick up 50ae and 44mag no problem). I think the resonance and concussion of an indoor range contribute to this. It has a velocity ceiling, and it cannot track shot (slugs are ok, but not shot). Mine does shut down spontaneously regardless of micro SD card and battery pack.

But it's the most convenient chrono and I've had success with the bt app\phone combo. I mostly use mine indoors when there's no other shooters at the range and indoor chrono usage is always problematic. Perhaps it's much better outdoors. Oh yeah having a close target, like in the indoor range messes it up too as it blocks the tracking.

All that said I'd get another one if something happened to mine. I dig it. I won't go back to a light sensor chrono. Labradar and magnestospeed are it for me.
