I do not turn necks, I do ream the inside of the neck. I find it most difficult to ream the inside of the neck without supporting the outside of the neck. About the only time I ream the inside of the neck is after forming cases. On a reloading forum that is as far as neck turning and neck reaming can be discussed on the Internet.

I have found more benefit in increasing the thickness of the neck than thinning. To increase the thickness of the neck I form cases. Increasing the thickness of the neck benefits the chamber with 'generous' necks.

Search K&M and 21st century shooting. They specialize neck turning tools

I use a Forester lathe type "trimmer" with their neck turning attachment. Little thumb killing handle removed. Driven by a low speed cordless drill.

I also have one for trimming.

You need a mandrel or Expandiron for sizing the inside of the neck so it properly fits the neckturner.
And you need the neckturner itself plus a way of spinning the brass itself.
K-M is the easiest way to go.
You don't want a round cutter you want one that is mainly flat so you don't cut threads.

I wouldn't mess around. K-M, Forester or Redding. Otherwise a quick duck in to your nearest Harbor Freight plumbing isle should do the trick.
