I reloaded a few rounds for a Model 8. Old rifle, in great shape.
Ammo cycled well, no pressure signs.
But the primers pushed out about 1/16". The primer's corners are still rounded. Factory ammo has not done this nearly to this extent.
I'm trying to figure out if the issue is excess headspace, or if I need to load a little hotter or faster powder (timing).
If headspace is the cause, would it be correct to adjust the die a little higher to keep the shoulder out further ?
Being an old semi, I want to resize properly and not take any chances.
Thanks in advance for any help.
