    primer prices?

what's up with the private Primer sales? People are selling them for $40-$60 per thousand...and people are actually buying them.

they cost $20-22 off of Powder Valley and Grafs. I notice that its gone up by about $2, but not by 100% - 200%

Has anyone ordered from PV recently? Is the backorder on Primers really gotten that ridiculously long (like AR-15 backorder)? How long were your primers backordered?

I ordered from PV back in Feb, they were 12 days behind orders, on the 14th day of submitting my order mine got shipped. That wasn't so bad.

Do me a favor. Find me some small rifle primers available anywhere.

    That will answer your questions.

hm, I see supply is stripped down that badly. Hope I have enough to ride the shortage out.

ESPECIALLY small rifle primers. I was lucky enough to get in on the Wideners Wolf SRM primers on Monday. They *might* ship next week due to their backlog of order processing. $20 a bucks a box tho!

I haven't looked in Turners yet but I'm doubtful.

Try $23 for 500 (5 trays)! That's what my local gun store charged me. I'm a bit torn over continuing my "loyalty" to them. I don't expect them to be as cheap as the online operations, I know their overhead is higher. But it's nice to have them around for when I need things right away, so I've always paid a premium for that pleasure. But $46 per 1,000 primers, I'm going to have to evaluate the nature of our relationship.

you should jump on it too if you get the chance.

Because of all the frenzy buying which is going on currently in the firearms industry, primers are harder to find than anything else right now. Like ivan said find some small rifle primers or for that matter any primers anywhere right now. It's not an easy task. With the exception of shotshell primers and maybe some small pistol mag and large pistol mag primers here and there most shelves and vendors are wiped out. And if you do find some, buy them fast because they won't last very long at all.

Should have invested in the primmer market, than I could retire! Found a brick of WSR that I bought at the Cow Palace probally around 1998 or so at the Miiwal table. Had $12.95 marked on it. I can see it now, next Cow Palace gun show. They will be storming the Milwal table for primmers to be sold on CalGuns for really big bucks!

1998 as the year you saw $12.95 on a box of 1000 primers? How long do primers last anyway? Anyone kept primers for as long as 15 to 20 years before loading them? I've heard of rounds being loaded for a long time, rounds that aren't sealed/waterproofed and reliably fired after so many years. I should've bought a few thousands of the Wolf just for plinking reloads. Grrrr... It's cutting down on my shooting.

You have to be vigilant when looking online, like several times everyday. I scored on the Wideners Wolf primers. They were gone in a few hours. As soon as something is available, every shooter website is telling the world they are available here, come-n-get em! When you see them, act QUICKLY!

Lots of people are taking advantage of the shortage situation. 60.00 for 1k primers, 50.00/lb for Varget powder, 475.00 for 5k primers, 900.00 for Stag uppers, the list goes on and on.

I actually have some WSP, WLP & WLR in the white box that are from the 80's that still work just fine!

I have Rem SRP (6 1/2) for sale. I won't ship but I can meet in the middle.

Damn, I guess I did alright then.

I walked a prize table after a match and selected the box of primers (1000) , instead of all the other stuff on the table... I really didn't need.
