Two Questions

1) How long should I expect the steel cutter in an RCBS Trim Pro to last? I'm finding it increasingly difficult and time consuming to trim each (.223) case to length. Is there a way to sharpen it?

2) I have a bunch of plated Speer .223 cases. Does anyone reload these? If *I* want to reload them, can I use standard dies or do I need carbide dies?

check to make sure the pilot is clear. sometimes a chip can get in there and wont trim anymore.

I wore out my cutter but I had done a ton of cases. If you replace it get the carbide cutter. I know of no way to sharpen it.
The plated cases are loaded just as the brass cases. Same dies and everything. I loaded 2800 of them and trimmed, swaged the primer pockets and chamfered them

You CAN however just get the carbide cutter replacement:

Dillon Rapid Trim or just send out the brass for processing.
