    50 Beowulf Load Data

I'm finding it pretty difficult to find a good source on heavy projectiles for this caliber. Closest data i can find is speer 400gr.

Im using the Lee 440gr mold and have them powder coated. Have a jug of lil gun to go with this but have access to rl7 as well as a little of h110. Preferably want to dedicate the jug of lil gun to this tho. One concern i have is because I'll never fire a traiditional factory round i wont know how the kick of the beo really is since ill be reloading from the start. Also because these heavies travel way slower than 2000fps and the tank brake i installed, will this be too wimpy of a kick?

I own a beo and wish I could help. I feel ya on the reloading from the start. That’s what I did and won’t shoot any factory unless it’s given to me. I run the Reiner plated 300gr. It does still kick but is manageable. It would be far worse with out the brake.

          I actually found this https://blueridgebrass.com/forum/f/5...a-7b181efd59ce

Im thinking i can downsize the 500gr FMJ to cast data by reducing the max by 10%. That still leaves me with a 40-50gr weight difference from my projectile to the 500gr. Knowing a lighter bullet requires more powder, I'll add a grain or two to the max. Where that leaves me with a max of 27gr ~1400. I'll probably start at 23gr and move 1gr up for functionality, stoutness, fps, powder burn and pressure signs on the bolt from what i read is a must.

Funny thing is on one forum i found a post saying they use 27.5gr of lil gun with the lee 440 so my data is pretty close to what someone is using.
