    Marking Brass

What do you use to mark your brass? I want to mark brass without contaminating it. I've seen what acidic cardboard can do to brass and want to avoid that.

yeah. Sharpie. I mark my brass for form-firing.

color-in the base of the case. the sharpie won't hurt the primer and tumbler will clean the ink right off.

Nope. Sharpie ink on the outside of the cartridge isn't going to do anything except add some color.

Sharpie also comes off in the cleaning process. So you can change colors!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

the only drawback is that, some of the ink might smear off onto your bolt face or chamber walls, depending on where you mark the round. My AR has a slightly red bolt face & firing pin.

nothing some CLP or Hoope's w/ a brush can't take care of.

Yup, I put a red Sharpie "X" on the base of my rounds too - works well.
