Who has a Labradar? SD card queastion.

My new Labradar will be showing up next week, and I need an SD card.

The Labradar manual says to use SDHC memory cards. The manual says not to use SDXC cards.

It is hard to find the standard SDHC memory cards. Most of the memory cards available are the MINI SDXC cards with an adapter, and most of the ones that say SDHC also say they are XC compatible.

What do you Labradar guys use?

Does anyone use the MINI SDXC cards with an adapter in the Labradar? Does it work?

I have some old SD cards as well, but they are small.

How much memory do you think someone (me) would need?

Is 1GB enough or should I get a 32GB card?

It stores the reports on there in csv format. The files aren’t very big at all. The firmware files aren’t big either so I’m guessing 1gb would be fine even for updates. I have used under 2gb on my card but have lots of other junk on there.

Just make sure it is in fat32 format.

1 GB is plenty. I just pulled up some old flies - 150 5 shot groups is only 1.56mb

Get the two pack I linked to because it's cheap ($9.15 for 2-pack). You don't need 8GB, but this is the cheapest reliable SDHC you'll find. I keep both cards with the LabRadar, one in the unit and one in the pocket of the LabRadar case. Ever since I forgot to put the memory card back into the LabRadar, I always keep a spare in the case.

But it sounds like you already have old 1GB. If that's the case, you're set.

You can use whatever. I haven't had any issues at all . You really don't need a SD card unless you have over 20 or so series saved on there. Download it after each use and place it in a file on your computer

As I recall, you can format anything up to 32GB fat32, OOTB.

The members saying you only need a small amount of memory are correct.

8 or 16 GB will last forever.

More importantly, get the free blue tooth phone app so its easier to review your data.

"It must be 32GB or less, SD or SDHC. Micro USB cards are not recommended." From Labradar FAQ. I'm using a 32GB micro SDHC memory card with an adapter and it works fine. Since 32GB memory cards are readily available for under $10, I can't imagine why one wouldn't just max out the capacity.
