Will Lee Bulge Buster work w/ RCBS non-carbide 10mm crimp die?

    Title says it all.

I've been sorting some 10mm range brass and separating out everything that looks excessively bulged. Anything with the "smile" or flattened primers gets tossed out.

My trashed 10mm pile is growing.

I'm considering getting the Bulge Buster @ $22 vs. the Redding GRX at $90+. Obviously the GRX must have a carbide die to justify the price.

Anyone know if the Lee Bulge Buster will work with the RCBS 40/10mm crimp die? Since it isn't carbide, I should just be able to use lube, right?

Does using the push through sizer overwork the brass to the point of thinning it out too much? If I just use it for range plinking ammo <1050fps would it even matter?

    Thanks.

NOPE! The "Bulge Buster" is a PUSH THROUGH DIE. You cannot push a case through a "CRIMP" die. Because of the internal restriction that creates the crimp.

the bulge buster suggests using the FCD with the crimp part removed

which is basically a sizing die with the decapper removed

I don't think any RCBS crimp die has a sizing ring at the base.

another option a lot of people do is to grind the outer base of the sizing die,
so you can get it to clear the extra .100" or so of the shell plate, case holder

This is what I use. Works great.

I use the Lee Bulge Buster in both 9mm and .40/10mm. They work perfectly.

The Lee Bulge Buster system requires you to purchase two parts. 1) The Lee Bulge Buster Kit (really just an adapter and case reservoir) and 2) A cartridge specific Lee Carbide Factory Crimp die. You unscrew and remove the internals from the LFC die to install the Bulge Buster Kit.

You can process either empty brass or loaded ammo fairly quickly and it produces great results.

I shouldn't have been so lazy. I pulled my crimp die apart and even the smallest diameter is way too big to size a case. All kinds of space with this 10mm case in the taper crimp die.......

Just placed my order for the Lee BB kit and the Lee carbide TC die.

Thanks for the info and suggestions guys.
