Lee hand primer and now the RCBS bench mounted hand primerA 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

It does look good; apparently automates loading the strips.
But there is still the extra step of running the cases thru the hand priming tool or the bench priming tool, rather than using the return stroke on the press while the case is 'undergoing' another operation.
For example, the Lee Turret press uses that primer arm assembly. You hand feed a primer into the cup, push the primer arm assembly into the slot on the ram, hold it there while bringing the case down onto the primer. So you've completed two operations with one step rather than handling that case twice.California Native

I use an RCBS hand primer, I have worn out 2 LEE hand primers.
I just load up a tray and sit on the couch watching TV and prime away

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

With the auto index removed, position the charging die with Lee auto drum over ram and Lee safety prime set up on press.
Edit to add. No need to push primer arm in to slot as it slides in as ram lowers into press base.
Raise ram up and place primer into cup with safety prim. Lower ram part way and insert case. lower ram all the way down and seat primer. Raise ram and case into charge die and charge and while in up position snap another primer into cup. Lower ram part way, remove primed and charged case, insert empty case, lower ram and prime, raise and charge, snap in primer. and so forth. Prime and charge in one stage.
If I want to trickle up I throw a little light, dump onto scale, trickle up and dump back into case.
Works for me.

I tried a bunch of hand primer items and I found that keeping my Rock Chucker and using that to prime was the best. I only load .308 on my single stage so I prime on that press. All other calibers I do on my 650sigpic

Thanks. That is correct, the primer arm engages as the ram lowers. Never tried the Lee auto drum for charging, always have used an RCBS powder measure.I prime and charge rifle cases on a Lee Turret.

Most recently I've been using a Lee Turret with the primer assembly mentioned above. That method does allow two operations (size/decap along with primer seat; or flare case along with primer seat) HOWEVER that method requires you pick up each primer and place it in the cup before lowering the ram.
I typically reload in batches of 100; can't get thru a batch without dropping a primer or two getting them into the assembly cup. Rolls under the bench and disappears. Slows down the 2-1 operation process. If there were some primer autofeed at this stage it would make the operation way more efficient.

Do you have or have you tried the Lee Safety Prime that attaches to the press? No handling primers.HOWEVER that method requires you pick up each primer and place it in the cup before lowering the ram.
