    Seating primers

I'd like to find a more efficient but economical way to seat primers than handling each one. How do you seat primers? What tool do you use?

This was supposed to be a poll but I screwed it up.
    Hand priming tool?
    Bench mounted free standing tool?
    Press mounted tool?
    Other, combination of above.

Buy once cry once... RCBS is terrible (the version I had), Lee is OK... hands down the best is this, but a quick search shows it's discontinued.

Are those proprietary shellholders that only work with that tool? Because I don't need shellholders.

RCBS APS loaded primer strips that you can run through your RCBS Pro 2000, use in the RCBS handprimer or the bench loaded unit.

You can order the loaded strips or re-use the old ones with the strip loader tool.

A bit of a learning curve but no tower of explosives mounted to your press.

I have both the Hornady & RCBS hand priming tools. I prefer the Hornady.

I like the lee old round tray ones. They have great feel. I have a backup set just incase the first one breaks.

The rcbs univeral one works well if you have weaker hand/thumb strength and need more leverage.

+1 for the RCBS APS system. It's nice once you get used to it.

I’ve got a Lee that I’ve had for quite a few years, and for the times I want to separate the prime process it serves the purpose.

I have the RCBS bench mounted unit. Better than feeding primers into the press one at a time but you have to make sure you pick up a primer with it before trying to seat.

The consensus seems to be for a hand priming tool, but isn't that an extra step?
When you can seat the primer on the return stroke of sizing/decapping a rifle case or flaring the case mouth of .45 or 9mm for example? But that still requires handling each primer separately.

Dumping 100 primers into a tray is faster than picking up 100 primers via a tube.
