    Hornady Bullets

Midway has Hornady .224 FMJ-BT w/c bullets available. I have reloaded and shot the Winchester version of this bullet several times, and I like it as a plinker.
Is the Hornady as good as or better than the Winchester?

In my experience, Hornady is some pretty high end stuff.

In my experience hornady is one of the best bullet manufacturers out there all my guns seam to love them.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

Not in .223, but have used both the Hornady XTP HP and the Winchester "semi" equivalent in several handgun calibers. The Hornady is an excellent bullet, and is always first quality. It is also a bit pricier, so for plinking, I tend to use the Winchester. Also not a factor in your question, but the Hornady XTP HP profile is such that it seems to feed better in guns that are fussy about feeding hollowpoints.

Thanks for the help! Bought in quantity, the Hornady bullets are 9 cents each, only a cent more than the Winchesters, and Midway says they are in stock. We'll see.
Now if I could only find some Varget or H335 to put behind them, I'd be in good shape.

You'll be very happy with Hornady. For rifle: SST; A-MAX; V-MAX. For Pistol: XTP. ALL are supreme projectiles.
