Whats a good, currently produced beam scale?

I have a Lyman digitsl dispenser. I use it for my .308 precision bolt gun.

Id like to check every throw, but my old lee scale lacks dampening, which makes every use a 20-30 second wait for things to settle down.

I understand rcbs oop 1010, the ones made in USA, are the best. I see them around $100 on Ebay.

Anything else a good quality scale with some kind of dampening?

    Thx.

Look at the RCBS M1000 scale. Also, the old Lyman/Ohaus M5 scales can usually be found on ebay as well as the older RCBS 1010 scale.

I use an RCBS scale and an inexpensive electronic scale from Cabelas to cross-check. I also have a set of RCBS check weights.

I've found both are somewhat susceptible to readout errors. There's no air movement in my reloading room (radiant heat) but there are fluorescent lights that might be throwing the electronic scale off.

I measure and weigh each charge individually but even then I'm expecting my cartridges to be no closer than .1 grains.

O'Haus made them for RCBS early on, not sure who makes them now.
I have one of the old O'Haus 1010 scales, it is always spot on.
I also bought some O'Haus scale check weights from ebay. Got a old 20 plus years, PACT electronic, but I do not recommend them, at least the PACT II. Maybe they are better now, but that unit has been nothing but trouble.

I hated the Lee with dampening, but new minimalist scales on eBay:
Dillon for like $67, or a
            RCBS: $50(m500 w/dampening)-$72

Used are cheaper, and higher grade are more expensive.

Older Ohaus made scales, Ohaus 10-10
RCBS 10-10, Lyman M5, made in USA.
all good scales, they do pop up from
time to time for sale, get-em "tuned"
or not, Scott Parker "tunes" them, but
his turn around times aren't that great
he does it on the side...more or less
you can't go wrong with the above,
have digital but use my old beam scales
to double check and use "check weights"

check here but read the descriptions on all
of them to make sure nothing is missing or
problems, make sure they return to zero, ask
the seller...this will give you some kind of idea

Redding No. 2 is another good option. Wait for a Midway sale. The only thing I don't like about it is the hollow aluminum (?) casting being very light. Planning to add some weight to keep it more stable.

Yeah.... that's the only problem last minute bidding, personally
I would bid on it. Last scales I bought were 2 RCBS 10-10's
(Ohaus) for $125.00 (for both) with boxes, covers, no scratches,
no marks on covers, returned to zero everytime, complete. Another
thing is sometimes the seller has them listed so that they get missed
when you search for them, so use any / all combo's of words / letters
like RC press, Rock Chucker, RCBS press as an example... missed a
CH Tool No. 444 H press because I didn't think outside the box. Anyway
the M5 is a great scale would bid, but got a few now.

Get an electronic scale with check weights. Once you try a modern scale with the tare feature you will never look back. I don't even own an old fashioned beam balance any more.

Thanks. I have one. I want the beam to double check the charges.
