    loading for 38 super

I plan on loading 38 Super in the near future. The pistol is a Colt government with a Kart barrel. I was wondering if any one has had any luck using 115 grain extreme plated bullets ? I have 231, bullseye, power pistol and unique. Will any of these work ? I am going to be using this for plinking. Has any one had good results with any of the above ? Thanks

Not sure about the plinking load. But I had great luck and very happy using Blue Dot to get some zip in them. Do like Win231 powder.
Take a look at using the Unique powder I’ve used a lot of it should be something published for it, we are on the road so can’t check my log book.

Currently working on loading for 2 38 Supers. For higher velocity, look at the slower powders. AA#7, Silhouette, AA#5, and Blue Dot. I'm trying Unique right now as a high mid-range load. I've had 2 case blowouts using 231, but that might have been a weak brass issue (Aquilla).
I have very little experience with plated bullets. I prefer cast or standard jacketed.
Rocky Mountain Reloading and Roze Distribution have decent prices with free shipping.
For hotter loads, read that as max plus loads, consider using Small Rifle Primers to handle the higher pressure.

Can't comment much on .38 super loads but keep in mind Xtreme says to use the heavy base bullets over 1200 fps and not to exceed 1500 fps with plated.
