    Reloading 7.62 x 39

My Google Fu is failing me. I am going to start reloading for my AK and trying to find the correct diameter for the inner barrel.

It's a WASR 10. I am about to place a huge reloading order and have .310 diameter Hornady projectiles in my cart and want to make sure it's the correct ones.

I believe .310 will work. Although I don't have the exact diameter measurement for the WASR 10. do you think it would make a difference on the year of manufacture? I read that some manufacturers used .308 width bullets to save on cost. I'm unsure how true this is. I reload 7.62x39 with .310 projectiles. But I reload for a bolt gun in that caliber. Not an AK. Just curious, are you reloading to save on ammo cost? Or trying for accuracy?

EDIT: Knee jerked that response, apologies.

For the AK its just for plinking and just needs to be AKurrate. I decided to add 7.62x39 to my catalog because I reloaded for all my other calibers, so why not. I know I'll never save that much money or none at all, but that's not always the reason we reload.

The WASR 10 is stamped 1977if it matters.

          0.310 is fine.

Next question is will .310 increase pressure significantly? I'll be using Accurate 1680, CCI LRPs, and probably Winchester brass boxer primed.

I've used .310 and .311 bullets with no signs of pressure with same charge of 24.5grns of 1680.
I generally reload for my x39 AR, but have used these in AKs and SKSs as well.
Shoot and cycle fine with all platforms and certainly far more accurate than any steel-case ammo except for the Hornaday stuff.

                No, why would it?

I reloaded everything and I had a L1A1 (7.62 NATO) from Century Arms that had a headspace issue because I'll shoot it and the brass I recovered was usually about 50% messed up so I would not get a second loading out of it. Reloading gets expensive if your brass does not survive more than one loading.

I got a WASR 10 (1973) that keeps all its shots, Wolf or Tula on the ten inch steel plate at Angeles Shooting Range at 100 yards.

The best thing to do is to slug your barrel.

Get port buffer for a Valmet rifle.Check Valmet forums. Will save the dinging of the brass.Rtg parts usually has them. Also it throws the brass is right behind you like an AR rile, instead of in the next county.
