Just got my Lee Classic Turret and just realized I need to order the powder measure die. I see I need the long one for .223. There is a set of a long and short one so the long one will cover cases 1.760 to 2.620 and the other .860 to 1.760. Is the short one for pistols? I'm seeing there are pistol specific dies that also open the case mouth. If pistols use specific dies than what calibers would the short die be for? Maybe I just need the long since I'll be doing 223 and 308 and then 45 down the road. I'm still researching but I just got it today so maybe I'll find the answer tonight.
Edit: The kit came with an auto drum riser so I'm wondering if I just need the short powder measure die. When I went to the Lee site and watch a video the put the auto drum right onto a long die so since I have a riser maybe I don't need it?
Edit: I think I got it. I was just thinking the riser would be somehow making it taller for a longer case but that's not the "case". It just extends the end of the auto drum but one still needs a taller powder measure die for longer cases so I ordered the long one.
