I have a bit more than that. More like about 10 5 gallon buckets. Right now, I sort by hand.

Depending on how hard they were pushed together - you can put
in freezer .
When frozen they are harder and you mite be able to pry apart
with different sizes of putty knifes .
I made my own with 2 1/2 / 3 gallon paint buckets , Just drill right
size holes - me - 25 ACP , 38 / 9 / 380 [ same size ] and 45 .
22's slip thru them all and my 50's are left with the 308's .
I really don't shoot the 32 enough to worry about and most of time
one of us is shooting and the other chasing brass , so unless a lot of
range brass , the MT's are put into their own boxes .

vhild labor is a good idea lol I used to sick my buddies on it with a 30 pack of beer but I sort so much brass sorting by hand just isn’t economical. I Load at least 500-600 rounds of 9mm a week. And sorting the 9/40/45 is paramount. I might even get the 380 plate this time. 380s make me waste primers a lot. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with another good commercial option.

I've got the metal .380 plate. just don't use it in the 9 mm tray. use the.45 one.

I use the 3 plastic sorters and I got the metal tray for 380. I did not like the tray idea so I welded a band around it and now have 3 sorters.
I have done several 55 gal drums for a friend using them as well as the brass I collect at the range for myself.

I bought the pans and the plate too. WTF were they thinking with the plate? Is it because they felt they needed aluminum to make a more precise cut? Why isn't .380 just another sorter pan?

Originally, I made my own sorting box that seperated .45 out, then .40 out. I used strips of wood and used a spent .40 cal case to space the strips apart. I should have just bought the plastic pans in the first place.

Now ... I have to see a photo of OP's pans if they are smashed together!

I like the tall band around my 380 plate. Makes it just another basket/pan for sorting. It was easy to make and a quick job for the TIG.
