    218 Reloading

    Hi everybody!

I'm new to reloading and would like some information on loading for a 218 Bee.
I recently purchased a Winchester Model 43 in 218 Bee, it came with about 300 rounds of ammo and 100 empty cases. Given the cost of production ammo I'd like to reload the empty cases.
I recently purchased a Dillon 550B, a tumbler, Lyman handbook, etc but, I'm not sure if there is a preferred die set I should be looking for. Any suggestions, tips, or tricks I should know?

Any brand of dies will do but most people prefer RCBS. Lyman, Hornady, Dillon, Lee, etc.. They will will all work. Since that's not a target gun you don't need the competition dies and all the bells and whistles.

The very best tip is to read the technical section and the reloading procedures in the Lyman handbook and at least one other reloading manual.

I reload 218 Bee for a Ruger #1 and a Marlin 94. Really nothing unique to reloading that caliber.

I didn't even know the M43 existed until a friend told me that he wanted to sell his fathers guns (passed away in 1993). He was calling it a Ruger 43 "Varmint Gun" with a small lot of other rifles. His mom said she didn't even remember him having it.

Thanks. I'm going to try using some lead-free to hunt bunnies with it.
