    Surplus Ammo Boxes ??

Time to get organized. I am tired of looking at all the factory packaged ammo
that takes up more space than it needs to. Is it ok to get rid of all the cardboard boxes and just store the ammo in the bulk military cans and if so do I need to put silica packs in the cans to eliminate a moisture threat. They will be in the house, a controlled environment.
    Thanks

As long as all the ammo is identical then it's fine. I like to know exactly what my ammunition is so I make a label for all my plastic ammo boxes. You don't need the silica packs.

Cool. I was planing on just throwing the label end of the cardboard box in the ammo can to know what it is.

I have not heard about having to use the same ammo, that may be just preference. I dont use any silica pads, but i have heard some people doing it. I personally dont think my ammo cans are that moist. But definitely throw a label, so you know what you have in the box.. i.e. .45 Hallow Points.
