    Pre-burning tracers projectiles?

I found a smokin deal on tracer projectiles ($40/k). I think you all know that normal projectiles (30 cal ball) are going for aprox $180/k. Can I legally bring projectiles into CA and light them off before I reload them? Would pre-burning them ruin the projectiles?

That's not really a deal. It's the going price from several different venders. Possession of each projectile can be considered a seperate felony offence in California. So, you could be looking at up to 4000 years in state prision per 1000 that bring into the state! Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!

So the projectiles (NOT LOADED AMMO) are a felony? If I buy 3k rounds it would be (10 years for felony x 4,000 round or 40,000 years in prison).

Dang! I guess your right but they contradict themselves by talking about unloaded and then loaded in the same sentence.

Yep, loose projos are considered DDs in CA. I just checked and niether Pat's nor Hi-Tech show any in stock but, that has been the going price for a few years now.

I wouldn't worry about that. With good conduct and other factors, you'll be out in under 500 years

If you pre burn the tracer, I guess it will ruin the bullets. It will become a very long bullet with very light weight. You may have accuracy problems.
