Seating depths for AR platform loads

Do you bother to test various seating depths beyond 2.26 OAL?

Do you find it actually produces better groups?

How far from lands to you go for the shortest OAL?

I just established a new charge weight for a load and wanted to check with more experienced loaders if they do this for the AR platform.

I measured my rifle and found the Wylde chamber will actually take really long loads before hitting the lands. Won’t fit the mag, but could be worthwhile for shooting longer ranges with heavy projectiles.

    Thank you.

I took some time with load development for one of my rifles and found this to be my rifle's favorite -

Remington 7 1/2 BR primers, 24gr RL15, 77gr SMK, LC brass, loaded to 2.26 COAL.

Consistently sub-moa regardless of the weather so I know it's the right load.

I messed around with seating depth and found that if I grouped a tad larger, or smaller, it was all attributed to me (the shooter) and not the seating depth. I tried multiple times on different days with the same results.

    YMMV

77 gr SMK and Nosler Custom Comp are pretty jump tolerant with my RRA NM A2 which has a Wylde chamber. There was no gain from loading long. My 80gr Nosler CC are loaded long (20 thou off the lands) and single loaded for the 600yd line.
