    44-40 last time

Just wanted to say thanks for tips on the 44-40. Went to the range today and shot a box of reloads. Everything worked great. Banging the 6 inch gong at 50 yards so am happy with the loads. A little more ump than the factory ultramax and I liked them a lot. Think I am going to tank this pig hunting for the fun of it. Thanks again for the tips!!

Pig hunting? Did you find some lead free bullets for 44-40?
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Depending on his gun he can shoot .429 bullets. I know my 44-40 was made for shooting .429 diameter bullets.

My 1875 Remington revolver clone by Uberti takes .430 RNFP 200 gr, but I have to trim cases to 1.285 (-.010) to get them to load freely and plunk in a gauge.
