    Mounting Hornady LnL AP

I live in an apartment without space for a dedicated workbench and currently have an old RCBS press mounted to a piece of 1.5" thick and 8" deep board that I then clamp down to a counter or table like so: https://i.imgur.com/EbOMhKuh.jpg

This set up is stable, there's almost no play in the press or board once it's clamped down, and I have no trouble resizing rifle brass.

Would a Hornady LnL AP also be stable in a setup like this? From what I can tell, the presses should weigh about the same. Permanently mounting the press somewhere is not an option at the moment.

It should work. Looks like a 2x8 your using. I would use at least 2 c-clamps. Better clamping force. Use a small block of wood on the bottom to keep from damaging the table.

The only problem I see is if you ever get a stuck case.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Should work, I don't think my LnL, requires any more torque to operate, than my Rock Chucker. If you can counter sink the bolts (so you can use carriage bolts) with the nuts on the top, you could slide the whole thing back further on your table top, might make it even more stable.

I like the idea of using C clamps instead of bar clamps as well. It sucks, not having room, but you have to do, what you have to do......

I have my press mounted on the top of essentially a rectangular box that is open (~10" wide, ~9" high, ~24" deep) in the the front made of 2x6s with a plywood bottom. I fill it up with boxes of bullets (boxes of 500 count 308 bullets) and that weighs it down considerably and keeps it from moving around on my desk.

I would likely countersink, or potentially do an Inline Fab mount (apparently there's a universal one)

I've tried the C clamps, but with the way that specific counter is designed using the bar clamps is actually sturdier

The press could go back farther only if not using the press to decap and needing the drop tube.

I haven't decided on if I would decap on press or not. I have a universal decapping die and a wet tumbler so might just decap and tumble at the beginning

The Hornaday LNL is machined on the bottom underside for mounting. Mount it on the board per the matching on the underside of the press.

I do a lot of decapping with mine. You can go pretty fast. Saves a lot of time.
