Is it possible to resize these bullets?

I have a bunch of these 7.62x39 bullets

and I no longer reload 7.62x39. I am trying to sell them but at the same time I wonder if I could resize these with a resizing die? They probably won't squeeze through a .308 resizing die as these bullets are .3125. But what if I start with a .311 resizing die to get them to .311, and then use a .309 resizing then, and eventually use the .308 resizing die. Would that work?

Let's ignore the trouble I have to go through and the cost of the resizing dies. Would this method work?

It could be done but the amount of effort makes it almost prohibited.

The link is messed up but your bullets appear to be plated. Perhaps running them through a succession of dies won't mess with their ballistics or their accuracy but as others have pointed out, you'll have to invest a lot of time in the process, not to mention a fair bit of money on he dies and something to force bullets through them.

Do you have your bullets up on Gunbroker or some of the other national sites?

It might work, Etreme bullets are soft lead with a hard candy (copper) coating. The lead would easily swage down, but I don't know if you could do it without destroying the thin copper plating.

Even, if you could, what would you have when you were done? Something that might work, or just a bunch of ruined bullets?

Yeah in about 4 steps .001” at a time sure. Use some extreme pressure grease and a strong press sure.

Those bullets are plated. You will make the plating thinner. Those bullets are only rated to shoot 1500fps or less. Reloaded as 308 will shoot a lot faster than that.
The bullets will most likely come apart in your barrel and foul your rifling.

Or the thinner plating will come off in the barrel.

Not worth ruining a barrel .
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Pretty sure it would work. I've never sized down jacketed bullets, only take pull marks out (BMG bullets), but I'll bet you can do it in 1 or 2 steps.

I'd be sizing to .308 (die) then measuring with a micrometer. LEE push through sizers are cheap.

1500 fps doesn't make sense even for 7.62x39 loads. Most 7.62x39 loads has a velocity of around 2000.

                          Yep.
They are not very good bullet for full velocity loads or for autoloaders.

They are best used at reduced velocity.
You know, for your bolt action, pump action and lever action guns which don't cycle from the gas pressure.

Your talking mfg ammo. Usually 2200 to 2400 fps full metal jacket.
Those extreme bullets are copper plated.
Copper plated for their pistol bullets is ok. They don't shoot at the higher velocities.

I have sized them down to .309 in one pass and loaded them in 300 BO. Work great for plinking loads with a pistol length gas system.
