Powder storage

It will be fine.
I store mine on top of my one safe, in the closet of my gun room and on an open shelve cabinet in the gun room. Some old stuff is in the garage.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

From what you describe, it sounds fine. Where are you going to store this? Garage? House? A climate that is more stable is best. Dampness is bad for powder storage, so consider that. As they say, keep it cool and dry.Comment

I build a wood cabinet for my powder (it's already too small). The recommendation is for a 1" thick wood cabinet because wood insulates better than metal so in the event of a fire, the powder is less likely to burn (very quickly of course) in a wood cabinet than in a wooden cabinet.
Since we live in the middle of the woods, I'm not sure it matters but I had fun building the cabinet.Comment

When I built my powder box I left 1/4 inch gaps between all the boards so it could vent but hold the core of the burn.Comment

In original containers in a large, secondhand, cooler. The lid fits tight enough that it should limit moisture transport in and out of the cooler, but not so tight as to be dangerous in any way. Also the insulation keeps the temp more stable in that any temp changes occur over a longer period.Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

Grandpa used to store his tins of powder on the garage window shelf.https://thedeplorablepatriot.com/

I would recommend against storing flammable materials in a refrigerator not rated for such use - it's more dangerous than just storing your powder at room temp. I say this as a chemist.
If you're going to do it anyway, make sure you allow the powder containers to equilibrate to room temperature before opening the container. Otherwise you'll get condensation inside your powder jug.
