Shot used to be 10 bucks for 25 lbs and 5 bucks for reclaimed . Not worth it anymore with shells 6 bucks a box.

Imbert and Smithers sells (or used to sell) shot. Whether it's good or not is up to you.

        ><

At one point Livermore shooting range sold reclaimed shot at a discount...it might have been for members only...worth a phone call

Lee makes buckshot molds in different sizes

I've got a bunch of lead shot different sizes I'll need to unload if anyone is interested. We are going to almost all non lead here now. I'll figure out what I've got left and put up in a separate thread. A ton of lead weights too.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Fairfield sells bird shot, and I've bought double ought there as well (for sling shot ammo). Don't know if all Sportsman's Warehouses sell shot, but at least this one does.

I use the Lee 18 cavity molds for casting #4 and #000 Buck shot - 18 at a time. It takes some getting used to but they come out pretty good once you get in a rhythm. I prefer casting my own as the price for buckshot is in the $5/lb range or higher.

USI (United Sportsman) range in Concord is about the best price around for lead shot local last I knew. Good prices on powder, primers and wads too.

I have supplies and equipment for casting but for only in case I can't buy ammo. I buy slug and specialty shells and reload the shot. I get chilled shot from Ballistic Products. I use #8 for cowboy 12 GA coach gun. Do well with Alliant ExtraLite powder.

USI generally will only sell to one of their members. At least this has been my experience in the past. I've been a member there since the late 80's.. I can recall when lead shot was $15/bag. Not so much anymore.

They sell to the street, but at increased price. If there's something in short supply, they may not offer to the street.

You need to run them pretty hot to get proper fill out. 725 degrees F is right about where I run them.
