question re: Win 147gr JHP in the white box

The 9mm load, that is. I see this at Wal-Mart often and I have *heard* (cough) that this is basically Silvertip ammo with a different type of cladding on the projectile.

Any ideas as to whether or not this is true..? I have not done any testing with it, but it seems readily available and fairly inexpensive. I have been more of a 124gr guy for some time, but this seems like decent "just in case" fodder.

    What say you?

It's true. It's a bare copper "Silvertip" and a solid self-defense load that averages 13" of penetration and .55" of expansion in real criminals per Dr. Eugene Wolberg of the San Diego PD Crime Lab.

Any chance you have a link to that data..? My google-fu sucks today.
