Case prep centers, what works? ( i searched)

Other than finding some prep centers for sale, a search here didn't help. On Midway and the various sites, Amazon, etc, reviews vary wildly for every product. Five and one star reviews for everything, and its not just one or two bad ones.

Looking to do 100 or so rifle brass at a time without the hassle of hand held primer pocket scrapers, chamfers, etc. mostly for my precision 308 bolt gun, but likely for other reloading if its handy.

    Thanks.

i have the FA prep center as well but i did upgrade the cutter with an RCBS carbide for quicker trimming. takes about 5-6 seconds to trim, deburr, chamfer and remove any crimp for each 223 casing. Tried the lyman hand crank and also with the drill attachment, also tried the worlds finest trimmer which is was fast as hell but didn't chamfer or deburr so having to handle the brass twice was too much work. I'd like to try the giraud 3 way trimmer but its too expensive for each caliber to have to buy separately.

I will second the Frankford Arsenal prep Center. I have had it for a couple of years now, and it has served me well. Not to mention save my hands.

Have never bothered to clean the primer pocket even though I have the RCBS tool for that

Don't bother with a prep center just buy the Giraud trimmer.

Bought a Lyman on sale at Cabela's on one of their 10% off days with 20% off gift cards and am happy with it. Buddy's got one too that hasn't had any issues for the last 3 years either.

Trim, debur, and chamfer, are part of your prep and for this I'd strongly recommend a Giraud trimmer.

As for scraping the primer pockets, many reloaders will just wet tumble with stainless steel pins (myself included) to achieve clean primer pockets. Otherwise, those that dry tumble state they don't see a difference. The consistency of the flash hole size (and being centered) is much more important hence the need for quality brass.

Happy with my Lyman, but I use RCBS primer pocket brushes with it. I find the wire brush on the RCBS work better than the Lyman.

Another vote for the Lyman, I also use it to power my lymen ez trim when I trim my brass

It's lapua and Peterson, separated of course, but it's good brass.

I have the f/a it works well. It's the 5 station I think and does not trim. I used it for crimp removal, pocket cleaner, debur. I quit using it for crimp, for that I use the dillon now. The dillion seemed to be more uniform, the rotating crimp removal can eat up to much pocket if not careful. Thinking of getting the three stage auto trimmer. Outside of trimming I think all are the same, the tool goes round and round, so I think it's the tool that is important.
