Hunting I'm guessing, not Lead is a requirement for own or iwb sidearm carry while hunting.

I just did this same research and ended up with the same conclusion. I need to reaload haha. Stuff is expensive.

I am not sure you need solid copper.
I understand frangable ammo can be lead-free too...

Just another option, one that might be cheaper on-sale?

I know the cheapest ammo I ever reloaded non-lead 9mm with was w/Remington frangible at about .095/rd (but w/different powder, I could get it as low as .08/rd).

Do you want just projectiles for your own reloading use, or do you want loaded ammo?
Underwood and Buffalo Bore both make lead free ammo. Underwood uses Lehigh Defense and Buffalo Bore uses Barnes.

Not asking out of need-concern is medical-specifically lead poisoning from enzymes secreted by human joint cartilage.

3/24/18 son shot in back by a wannabe gangbanger d-bag. Bullet lodged in L2 vertabrae and can't be removed.

One wild shot hit his car and I retrieved bullet. Bullet deformed in front and appeared to be solid copper. I put a deep scratch on the back to see if it was copper or tmj. Exam of scratch shows copper, but didn't know if such a thing existed.

Most of the 9mm all copper ammo I have seen has been hollow point self defense ammo. If you bullet has a round nose it is most likely FMJ or TMJ with a lead core. Did the bullet star out or did it mushroom?

^^ Neither. Half the diameter of the nose area was smeared flat (or sheared off). And the smeared/sheared surface was shiny copper.

Without being able to see it I wouldn't be able to tell if it was all copper or not. Try cutting it half with a hack saw or dremel.
