Ball park cost to get set up for 9mm reloading?

So I find myself going through a lot of 9mm, I keep all my casings and only purchase Brass now as I plan on reloading at some point. I was curious what am I looking at (just a rough ballpark) total to be set up with everything I need as far as the equipment and tools. Not counting Powder, primers, bullets etc. Just the equipment. You don't have to list anything, I can research that later, just curious what I should expect it to cost to get set up.

Do not want cheap plastic dollar store quality stuff, want something with at least some quality but not looking to break the bank either. so something in between I am thinking unless it is actually cheaper than I am thinking In which case I will get the best I can.

PS, I will most likely want to be reloading 5.56/.223 as well. I figure that will just require an extra fitting here and there and not a whole separate setup?

I got the Dillon XL650 almost 2 months ago. First time reloading but went to some classes first. BEST DECISION I could have made. I went a little overboard because wife and I both shoot 380, 9 and 45. We usually shoot about 450-500 rounds each every week during the off season. Complete setup ran about 2000 with complete setup for each caliber instead of having to change out the different dies and powder drops every time I wanted to load different rounds.
As I said, BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE!
Dillon has been extremely helpful with my questions and even sent out a couple of parts that I accidentally messed up at no charge.

I agree with nubrun..... loading pistol ammo is tedious work on a single stage.

This guy has a complete progressive setup for $100. All you'd need to add is a set of 9mm dies, a scale, and components:

You can also watch Craigslist and offer up. I found a second lock n load AP on offer up for $150. It had never been used and even still had the packing grease on it. Now I have one setup for 9mm and one for 45.

How big is the work area you intend to reload in, and how committed to learning the skill of reloading are you?

It doesn't take very long on how to learn, but you will spend the rest of your life perfecting the skill.

A good single stage press, good dies, scale, and assorted peripherals (calipers, funnels, primer flipper, loading blocks, etc.....I'd figure on spending $300.

I started loading 9mm in 1990 with a lee hand press, lee dies, lee priming tool, a pound of bullseye, a box of bullets, and a 100 primers, total cost out the door was a little over $100 back then, now that cost would be well over $200. that said you can see the other end with a Dillon XL650. It all depends on how much time you have and how much you intend to shoot. Plan on about $500 for a bare bones single stage press of good quality, or about $1000 to get a progressive setup and running. I also own two RL550B's that are only doing pistol calibers and bulk .223, i single stage every other rifle caliber I have.

There’s a Lee kit that is about $40 or so, but very slow.

You could always wash your brass in a bucket instead of ss pins. There’s a few home wash recipes on you tube too.

                      As
                      Dragginpanda
said , a lee hand reloader is around 40 . Very slow , but many
uses . [ plunk test , OAL , ladder building at range , ETC .
It is also a way to learn and while being slow , it is cheap if you
decide it's not for you .
I started with one , now do 15 calibers and have one for every
                      one except 25 ACP . [ CAN'T FIND A REPLACEMENT ]
I use a Lee loadmaster [ it is kind of slow on magnums , but all
                      presses are ]
Go on ebay , buy a used reloading manual and a lee hand loader [ different than a lee hand press ] then start watching craigs list , for
                      sale here , ebay , etc .
