    .22 wmr ammo

Anyone have any advice for me as to what .22wmr ammo is among the best for accuracy?

I was told CCI Maxi-Mag is good. I have about 1,000 rounds of 22 Mag ammo and no gun. Maybe I should throw my ammo away. Or, buy a gun for it? I don't have money for the new gun. Oh, well.

If you don't have a gun for it, sell it on here for profit and fix the "no money problem"?

If I sell it for the money and buy a gun, then I won't have ammo.

Cabellas has Fiochi 40 gr. for $170-K. plus shipping and such.

I suppose you could sell it and buy a used Rough Rider.

I like the stuff loaded with v-max bullets. however also had great luck with the winchester black box segmented hollow points for hunting. shot a jackrabbit at 75yds off hand yesterday.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. From what I have been reading, seems the best tactic to figuring out what ammo is best in my gun is to try everything and see what works best. After figuring that out, I wish someone sold something along the lines of an ammo "variety pack". That would be helpful.

+1 on buy several 50 round boxes and shoot away. I shoot a lot of the Armscor from Sportsmansguide and it does just as well as the CCI, or Federal.

Topgun7- I have a buddy in Saugus he can stop by your house and grab your 22mag ammo from you. I would hate for it to wind up in a landfill!

That is the idea. For my Anschutz match rifles, I tried about 12 different top quality match ammo to find out which is the best.

I experimented about 5 years ago. I had 2 pistols & 2 rifles for shooting Bullseye. I tried 4 different decent brands of .22 ammo. Made a grid/graph & recorded the results for all 4 guns w/ all 4 ammo brands. (took me most of the day at the range). Each gun preferred a different one.! ARGH!

I ended up selecting one for best allround results. Then I bought 5,000 rounds of PMC Zapper. They don't make Zapper anymore. Now It's Back to the Drawingboard...
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
