I just cleaned out the 3-gun shops in Santa Barbara and Goleta yesterday of small pistol and rifle primers. They can't get anymore. One place did have a whole mess of bench rest primers left. But I wasn't sure how much he was asking for them.

I think a lot of people are just over reacting right now to the possibility of future ammo legislation. There is a feeling that the antis are going to go after ammunition in the future, but from the Heller ruling, we see that ammunition is also protected.

The ammo manufacturers were caught by surprise and just can't keep up with the demand. It may take five or sixe months, but they will eventually ramp up production enough to start taking care of the demand. I talked to a couple guys who are buying stuff just to resell it for a profit. At some point, prices are going to rise to a point where people will stop stockpiling as much and demand will slow. Then, things should level out again.

This is like the stores running out of batteries, bottled water and plywood when a hurricane approaches. You have a small hurricane brewing out in the ocean and the news media mentions that it could swell to a category 4 with destructive winds and they start talking about and showing video of Andrew and Katrina and people just go nuts.
I don't think Hurricane Obama is going to be able to strengthen too much.

Remember, we already have the Heller ruling and incorporation is pretty certain.

Go to Gunbroker and do a search for CCI Small Rifle Primers.

Make sure when you do the search, you search only the auctions ending in the last 24 hours.

My search comes up with 5 auctions for CCI Small Rifle Primers (Not the 2 Magnum Small Rifle Primer Auctions) with an average selling price of $80.20 per auction.

Now you asked, "did you mean $28 per 1000 pcs?????".....ummmm, my answer is no.

I don't control the prices, the bidders do. Sorry if this is upsetting to you, but as I am sure you know these primers are getting harder and harder to find or you wouldn't be on gunbroker looking for them, you would be at your local gun shop (who is out of primers......that is why you are looking here. As for the powder valley link you sent, as you can see they are out of stock (as by the way are Midway USA, Natchez, Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc, etc, etc.)

One other note, this is an auction. If the price is too high for you, no one is forcing you to bid.
