Seems that the ammo shortage has hit 380 ACP pretty hard. I can find 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP on a fairly regular basis, but I'm striking out with 380 ACP. Anyone have a line on any? Especially in SoCal/IE?

I did an extensive search for a friend 2 days ago, and it's as if the caliber has ceased to exist. I did find a few boxes at Cabelas, but they're probably gone by now. Try the gun auction sites--I've seen it for sale there. Whether or not you want to pay what they are asking? What the market will bear.-----------
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is. -
Last time I stocked up on .380, it was through gunbroker, and I ended up buying from www.ammunitiontogo.com. Looks like they're out now, unfortunately.
Looking at the prices on gunbroker, maybe I should sell some of it!
Maybe .380 production has taken a back seat to the more popular calibers.Last edited by maxicon; 03-19-2009, 10:24 AM.sigpic

Where do you live? 2 Wallsmarts in my are have them in stock, granted they cost nearly what a .45 costs. Try small gun shops or sports authoritysFOR SALE: XD45, 24/47 Yugo Mauser, AK RPD AES-10bComment

.380
I'm betting that if you had your specific location showing in the upper right hand corner of your posts you would increase the likelihood of getting helpful info from other calgunners. I recently bought some .380 at Walmart in Huntington Beach, it was the only pistol ammo they had.If you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough. Albert EinsteinComment

Low volume. Even when ammo was cheap, .380 was 1.5x the price of 9mm. It's just not as popular.
This looks like a pretty durn good deal if it's in stock and you're looking for FMJ:
380 Auto (ACP) 90gr FMJ PMC Case (1000 rds) - $195
If you don't need that much, you could sell it pretty quickly for what you paid for it, but I always regret selling ammo eventually.sigpic

I'm in Lake Elsinore. It's dry as a bone over here. Was in Sacramento yesterday and bought the last 8 boxes of UMC FMJ on the shelf at Cordova Guns. That should tide me over for awhile. And the-armory.com is out of stock in FMJ as an FYI
Thanks all
