Personally I have heard of too many problems with Superformance ammo. I wouldn't shoot it in my guns.

Edit: Make sure you find those pieces of brass.

Would like to know what's going on.

A wise reloader once told me 'flattened primers' aren't a sure way to gauge a rifle's chamber pressure. Then again, he had the tools to actually test it.

From a Rugerforum post about the same thing.

I just got off the phone with Hornady. I explained what happened and gave them the lot number and they immediately acknowledged that they had had some problems with some 375H&H ammo manufactured back in 2015. This particular box was part of the lot(s) in question. They thought they had recovered all the ammo but obviously there's still a few boxes out there. They explained in great detail why the ruptures had occurred and they're sending me some replacement ammo and a shipping label to return the defective stuff. I'm really happy to know it wasn't the rifle.

Plenty of other complaints about the Superformance ammo, mostly accuracy related.

Glad it's sorted. So what was the explaination?

Never had that. Doesn't look like a pressure issue, but rather brittle brass...or some type of bullet sealer.

Interesting, I've never seen anything quite like that. Very interested in the final outcome/explanation. keep us posted!

I have to wonder of the bullets were somehow getting fused to the case.

Looks like a bad case of neck weld
