    Buy .308 now?

I know for a fact that I will be looking for an M1A down the road. It'll be hard to come buy but I imagine that ammo for it might be even harder.

Is it a good idea to start stocking up on it now? There are some places online to buy it in bulk. Gunbroker has some milsurplus in bulk too.

I just don't want to be up a river without a paddle so to speak when I finally do get my M1A.

There is milsurp at samco : http://www.samcoglobal.com/Ammunition.html

    its probably cheaper than Gunbroker...

M1A wise you looking at plinking or what? There are better options accuracy wise than stocking on surplus like reloading so you can start keeping an eye out for components on sale (which is more likely than loaded ammo going on sale)
According to this CDC document the firearms related death rate has been surpassed by the poisoning death rate.

Time for an assault drain-cleaner ban?

I'd mostly do paper punching with it.

I'm already looking into reloading for my 1911.

I myself am planning to get an M1A and I have been buying ammo whenever I find *affordable* ammo.
