    .30 Carbine Ammo?

I recently bought an M1 Carbine (Universal 2nd) and just picked it up today. Id like to take it out and give it a rip since i cleaned the crap out of it and i want to get it dirty again The only problem is that i CANT find it anywhere! Every online outlet is out of stock and nobody local has it. If there is some advice someone might have id sure love to get ahold of it. Thanks

Try CMP for the brass case. WOLF Ammo for the steel case, however, WOLF doesn't sell directly to end users but you could check if they had any left and ask your local dealer to order it for you.

I am in the same boat. I picked up a nice IAI M1 Carbine from a fellow Calgunner two weeks ago. I found a couple boxes of .30 carbine at Walmart and swapped for two more. Now there is nothing out there, every on line vendor I have tried is out as well. Headed to The Big Reno Gun Show in April, hopefully there will be some available.

I would check Turners. I have seen some there. I was lucky that I've got couple cans of LC GI ammo about a year ago.

Off the topic, if you want to see the best history available on the Universals, go to http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_universal.html. Jim, the webmaster, has done an excellent job of gathering up a detailed history.

If you send him your SN, any history you know of the gun, and some pics, he's always looking for more info, and can give you an idea of when (and possibly where) it was originally sold.

For ammo, if CMP's still got stock, they're a good bet.

I picked up two boxes of Remington MC .30 carbine at Walmart yesterday. I would like to find some soft points that aren't $45 for a box of 50. Only place that has soft points has been Big 5. Would love to try the Corbon.

If you are in the Fresno Area, I think the other day I saw a bunch of .30 carbine ammo at Mayfield, but you live in Sacto.

I haven't seen 30 carbine in stock in a store for quite a while. The local walmarts USED to carry it but stopped about three years ago. My small local shop had a few boxes at one point but haven't noticed any on his shelves for a while.
