    Already primed brass?

So I saw a deal on 308 brass, and it came primered.

How would you necksize on primed brass? Besides very carefully

I have 308 dies and the Lee hand loader kit.

I'd FL size the brass not necksize it. If it is demilled brass, there is a chance that the neck has stretched a bit during the bullet pulling process.

To answer the mechanics part of your question, remove the depriming pin from your sizing die, then use it to size the brass without depriming it.

My .308 dies, both the FL and the neck sizing, have a removable pin.

yes, just the pin, you'll need the expander ball to open the neck to the right size.

Heck, I just catch the primers as they get pushed out and simply reprime it on the return stroke of my Breechlock Challenger press.

Unless you use an expanderiron in a separate step.

You do NOT need to remove the pin on the expander/decap die.
All you need to do is adjust it up so that it does not contact the primer.
If you have older dies(I know RCBS) the pin fits up in a hollow in the stem and tightening the expander on the stem causes it to be squeezed and held in place. If you remove the pin then you close up the hole and cannot get the pin back in without damage

It is a whole lot faster and easier to just move the stem up a bit so it does not punch out the primer. Been doing it this way for years without a problem. Then when done just move the stem back down to remove primers as needed.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
