    Reloading 12ga slugs

    Does anyone here has some info or experience in reloading 12ga slugs ?

    slug loading is no different then loading shot. Pick your slug and find the recipe that correlates to that slug, buy the right wads, hulls, powder, primers and assemble.

      Just for plinking. I load the Lee 1 oz slug just as if it were 1 oz of shot. The Claybuster Lightning (white) wad has thin petals so the slug fits nicely into a Remington Gun Club hull with a good looking crimp. 18g Titegroup gets me 1200 fps.





      You could use the Windjammer wad for a heavier charge of Unique but you'll need to stand the slug up with pillow stuffing or a few pieces of cardboard. 24g Unique gave me 1360 fps with quite a bit more recoil. Lightning on the left, Windjammer on the right with the pillow stuffing underneath. Notice the higher powder cup (shorter wad to allow for more powder). The wad actually sat lower so the stuffing was needed.
