who has reloaded pmc bronze brass

Seems like there is a ring inside the primer pocket that makes priming very difficult. I have had lots of primers go in crooked, or get smashed jamming my press. I chamfered some to help the primer seat straight. Who else has had this problem? Thanks.

I have reloaded some. I did pass them through my Dillon Super Swagger and they did not give me any problems.

i think that is just some form of crimping. just remove it.

Swage the primer pocket. Dillon sells one called Super Sawage 600, kind of expensive but some of the members here know of some other ones that will do the same thing for cheaper.

Or you can use a cheap Lee chamfer tool, a bit more work but still gets the job done.

If your processing a relatively low amount of crimped brass the Dillon Super Swage 600 ( about $100 including ship ) would be more then you need for the money. I have an RCBS case prep center and I have a small crimp removal tool installed and it works good. You can also chuck it in a cordless drill and get the same results. I think the crimp remover was like $20, but if you are processing alot of crimped brass then the super swage 600 is the way to go.

Federal XM193 will probably be crimped as well yes? Just making sure because I have 1/4 case of it and I plan on reloading it when I get my kit together.

On a related note, should we be using some sort of heavy decapping pins on these to avoid breakage? Trying to make sure I have this crimped primer thing straight in my head Still a newb here.

I haven't had any problems with decapping pins and the crimped brass yet. Seems to pop the primer out just fine. I have noticed that LOTS of different brass is crimped. Federal, PMC, and mil brass etc. I've been swaging all by hand with a case reamer and it's a PITA. I want the Dillon Sometimes I really have to give her hell to get that primer to not sit high after reaming the pocket also.

I prefer swaging the pocket, but that is just a personal preference. Nothing wrong with using a reamer, countersink, or pocket knife to remove the burr - I think lee sells a inexpensive swage tool -- my ha-penny
