    try a developing a load at 2.80.
    I load my 5r at 2.80
I did it both ways. single shot 2.90 got old re quick.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

      I prefer to shoot 155 A-Max.
      but I do have a load for 168 A-Max
      and 175 Sierra BTHP

I load mine using Sierra 168 BTHP Match King. For single loading , I seat it to .005" off the rifling and it works very good.

For semiauto use, I load to the maximum length that my magazine will take. It is usually a lot shorter than single load rounds.

To help with a slightly quicker load at 2.80. Are you seeing a better load at lower or higher charges compared to longer length

Example. If I do a load development from 38-44 grains for 2.92 coal. Should I do it for 36-42 for the 2.80?
