    Tumbler Recommendations

I'd be interested in recommendations for vibratory tumblers, especially from anyone who has purchased in the last year. Are the least expensive ones from Lyman, Hornady and Frankford Arsenal durable enough to process 2,000 .223 cases (in smaller batches) over a period of a few weeks? Approximately how many .223 cases can they process at a time?

If I do this, I'm planning to use buckwheat/groats/kasha for the medium since it seems to be pretty effective, it's not terribly expensive, it won't plug the flash holes and it doesn't create a lot of dust.

I have a Dillon's CV-2001 Vibratory Case Cleaner, it's larger than most of the rest and It will not hole 2000 223 cases. Maybe 1000
Do a search for it and check it out. Expensive

Hornady M1. Here is my review of it. Does a fine job. https://youtu.be/lXIUN5NVdVE

        Dillon CV 750, very quiet.

When the motor started to fail, I called Dillon. They replaced the motor and updated the worn parts.

I had two of the big Lyman vibratory cleaners die within weeks of their warranty running out. The second was a replacement from Lyman for the first.
I gave up on Lyman and went to a Berry's 400. Which has been chugging Merrily along for over 12 years. The only part that has been replaced is the lid(cracked in two places). Berry's just replaced it at no cost. New lid seems heavier and made of thicker material than the first.

Thanks for the suggestion. Nice unit but I don;t have the space or the budget for it. I'm happy tumbling 200-300 cases at a time.

Hornady M1. Here is my review of it.
            Nice review and nice presentation.

I'm thinking this is what I want. They make the one sold by Cabelas and that's probably what I'll buy.

Don't worry about the dust at all. Use the lid when your using the tumbler and throw the media out when it stops working and you will never have a dust issue.
I turn mine on and leave it on overnight for each batch with 350+ pieces of brass non-stop for a week or two at a time.
Haven't seen dust in over 40 years of reloading because I use sifted walnut media and replace it because it's cheap.

I use the Hornady M2. I like that it comes with a slotted cover for outside tumbling, or a regular one for inside. Does a fine job and fit the budget.

I bought a mid sized and found it wasnt big enough after i decided the big Dillon was too big.

Then i bought another one after i decided a mid wasnt big enough

I finally rationalized a big dillon, which takes less space than two mediums, THEN i decided to keep a mid sized too for smaller loads.

This is a fantastic little Ultrasonic Cleaner for the money. Hold 180 AR brass with ease and MUCH more time efficient than dry tumbler. 20 min using hot water, Lemishine, little vinegar and dish soap will clean the brass & primer pocket thoroughly. Dry tumblers usually shine the brass better because the corn media is physically polishing the brass surface, but shiny brass does not make one a better shooter!

I've had a Frankford for the last 5 years. I'll run 200 .223 at a time in it with no problems.

I got one of these so I can turn on the tumbler then walk away and not worry about the tumbler running longer than needed.

A Cabelas showed up just a short while ago. Now I need some kasha/buckwheat.
