Started back in 2013 because as my wife says I'm a cheap bastard and I was spending too much money on ammo. I still spend the same amount but I get to shoot more.

What's Your Reloading Story?

Ignorance is a matter of choice and is usually cured by age, experience and education, but stupid is genetic in nature, and incurable. -
I started in ROTC .
I worked in a scrap metal yard while in JR High school .
Still worked there in high school . I worked off a 45 acp
10 dollars a week for a month .
Back from Nam , got an M-1 cheap . Then the 270 .
Started with Lee hand loader . Pig got up after being
hit with 270 , then got up after 45 .
I bought the 50 AE then .
You should consider reloading - a lot cheaper than buying
ammo [ they did not have the 50AE Lee loader ] but did
have a returned Lee load master . Buy it and I will throw in
a pound of powder , some pills cases and primers .
It took me about 2 months to pay off - I wanted dies for
the 50AE , 270 , M-1 , the kit came with the 45 ACP dies .
Then came the plates . Thank you over time .
Now I reload 15 calibers [ 6 nephews - 2 nieces ] and have
stuck with the load master .
For birthdays Xmas , etc I get turrets , die sets , reloading
manuals and the last 2 years - primers and powder .life member - CRPA and NRA

I started reloading in 1989 with a RCBS Rock Chucker, and it's still going strong.sigpic"Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weak is not what you are going to remember about me."

Moved to the USA in 1998, April I think. Went to Big5 and bought an SMLE in .303 british two months later. Bought some ammo online, then bought an RCBS Master Reloading kit because some coworkers were reloaders.
Then I bought a Glock21 and single staged some rounds for it ... then bought the Dillon 550b right after that ordeal.==================

Don't feel bad . I have been reloading since the early '70's .
Anyway , a couple of years ago a god child and her husband
came up for Xmas - long story short - had more trouble
reloading for their 40's for glocks than any other cartridge .

I started loading for my .357 in 1980 with a Lee Hand Loader. How I didn't blow myself up banging away with a hammer Ill never know.
Shortly thereafter I was talking guns with the boss of a place I was picking up a load of lumber at and somehow the conversation turned to loading.
He told me he had a new Dillon Square Deal he bought used once and didn't like and said he would let it go for $90 bucks. I grabbed it that day.
A few years later a friend gave me his Dillon 550 as he was going through a divorce.
In the mean time I had taken up trap shooting so I bought a MEC.
Somewhere along the line I bought a RCBS Rockchucker for odd jobs.
I still have and use all the presses and have firearms in 15 different calibers.
I keep the components stocked and never sweat ammo runs or being caught short anymore.Paralyzed Veterans of America www.pva.orgComment

Same here - I / we have firearms in 15 different calibers .
Lst year 3 nephews were going to get 223's , so I bought
the dies . Then 2 went with the 308 and other the 762 .
Now they are going to get 223's at tax return time .
I took the 223 dies out of tool heads [ one set for decapping
and one for reloading ] I told them to get 2 more tool heads

I blew up a rifle I spent 2 years working on 30 yrs ago.
Put 50gn of 296 in a 7x57 case because I made 3 mistakes while loading I never allow now:
1. I had 2 powders on the bench at the same time.
2. I was watching tv despite
knowing better.
3. I was talking with my wife about the show we were watching.
Absolutely ruined the gun but made me a real fan of the design of Mauser actions.Comment

On the floor in my parents living room, 12 GA Lee Loader components and hammer/large steel plate making shells for the quail hunt the next day. Parents walk in and

. !!!... couple of years later dad buys a rock chucker set up.... we spend quality father and son time. Dad doesn't shoot anymore, but I have the RCBS going every week, been thinking of a turret or some kind of progressive, but the slow and steady pace is somehow relaxing... I too have guns that have never fired a factory round..
