I found no difference between FL and neck sizing , but only
    did sighting in when I was hunting . 20 reloads w / F L and
20 with neck sizing , group sizing was close enough to blame
myself , wind or just position . Off hand standing or kneeling .
Even now , my ladder tests are off hand .
if your shooting ladders...or load development period...off hand how do you ever end up with any usable data?

I have been doing a lot of reading about sizing lately,I will probably never compete seriously but fascinated by the different processes.
TonyJr. A reloader does not require a box of sizing dies, Many reloaders do not know if the case was sized until they attempt to chamber it. And then there is that group that crush the case when crimping while seating bullets.

A reloader can use a full length die to size cases for short chambers and long chambers. Long before the Internet I sized cases that were .012" shorter than a go gage length chamber, with the same die I sized cases for chambers that were .008" longer than a field reject length chamber. Meaning some shooters would have to purchase 32 dies to be able to accomplish what I do with one die.

For short chambers I raise the case head off of the deck of the shell holder with a feeler gage. for long chambers I adjust the die off of the shell holder by raising the die off of the shell holder with a feeler gage.

I have never found it necessary to grind the tip of the shell holder or bottom of the die, I have never found it necessary to purchase Redding competition shell holders or Skip's shims,

Length of the chamber: I am talking about the distance from the datum/shoulder to the bolt face. Again, my cases do not have head space, I use the length of the case from the shoulder to the case head to off set the length of the chamber.

My ladder tests are from 10 [ indoor ]or 25 yards [ outdoor ]
        I use a sling for both .

I end up with at least 2 sets of dies for each caliber .
I decap and prime off press .
I use a die for sizing , 1 for powder , one for seating ,
one for OAL and the last is for crimping if needed .
That is for pistol cartridges .
For rifle , decap on press
and size . Then the cases get cleaned .
        Yes I have a lot of dies / calibers I don't reload , they
were given to me nd I kind of expect more when new
        laws go into effect .
I have 6 nephews and 2 nieces that reload here and
people give all off us " stuff ".

Doesn't the OAL get set when seating?

Almost everyone does it that way .
I prefer to AOL in different die .
I started doing it this way years ago when I was casting .
I am on a load master , soI have 5 die holes , might as
well use them . It also balances tool holder .

              I know I know!

Mr. TonyJr uses two different seating dies, one with a micrometer head. The first one seats the bullet long. The second is used for fine tuning based off the ogjive so the jump length is the same on all of his rounds.
